1. Who Is This For?
This Privacy Notice is for “contributors”, by this we mean:
- Hiring managers or other representatives of Talent Point’s customers
- Organisers and attendees of events run by, sponsored by or any way partnered with Talent Point
- Applicants who have experienced the Talent Point service
- Technology professionals and jobseekers not specifically represented by Talent Point
- Experts and subject matter experts in relevant fields
In the instance that an individual falling into one of these groups provide survey responses, opinions, testimonials, case study material, or similar contributions to promotional material for Talent Point.
All references to Talent Point are to be taken to include all brands and companies of Talent Point, including Growable.
2. Your Personal Data
As a contributor you provide information about yourself alongside your opinion, testimonial, anecdote or other content. This is called ‘personal data’ in relation to privacy laws such as, but not limited to, General Data Protection Regulation and Data Protection Act.
All personal data is obtained directly from you or from a representative of your Employer. Methods you may provide personal data via include but are not limited to surveys, verbally including via the phone, in response to request for contribution, including (where relevant):
- Your name (first and/or last)
- Email address
- Phone number
You also provide personal data as part of your contribution. This could be your image, voice, photos of yourself and other information contained in your contribution that identifies you.
Talent Point doesn’t require the collection of Special Category and Criminal Offence personal data from its Contributors.
Information from other sources:
We may collect information about you from public sources (such as social media) industry contacts and public opinion through surveys and market research.
We use a fully anonymised instance of Google Analytics, a service which transmits website traffic data to Google's servers. Our tracking does not identify individual users or associate your IP address with any other data held by Google, Talent Point, or Growable. Nor do we allow Google to use the collected data, except to produce website traffice reports, which are used to help us understand website traffic and webpage usage only.
You may opt out of this tracking at any time by activating the “Do Not Track” setting in your browser.
3. How We Use Your Personal Data
Talent Point is the “data controller” and decides how your personal data is used. This is called “processing data”.
The data controller is required to have a legal basis to process personal data. We are processing your personal data based the on the consent you have provided when you agree to this policy on the provision of the personal data. Your consent may have been provided via checking a box online, responding to an email or verbally directly to a member of Talent Point’s staff.
Purposes of Collecting Data
We are collecting your personal data to maintain a record of the source of the content you have provided. Talent Point may also use the information provided to contact you for further content or clarification of content already provided.
If you opt in to receive email updates, we may use your email address (and other personal information such as your name to administer your opt in) to send you emails with information about Talent Point including events, career opportunities, existing and new products, existing and new services, and relevant research or reports regarding technology roles, hiring and employee retention.
Sharing Your Personal Data
We may share your personal information with other personnel from Talent Point on a need to know basis (such as HR, IT Legal and Finance), the Company’s affiliates and group companies, legal and regulatory authorities. Your information may also be shared with the host partner of any event that you attend. By attended a co-hosted event, you are giving permission for your information to be shared with both companies.
Content including or referencing quotations or data taken from the Contributor may be used on our company website, including https://talentpoint.co, as well as other company-owned/managed social media accounts. These will remain the property of Talent Point for the duration of their relevance or until such a point that the materials become redundant as determined by Talent Point.
We encourage and give full permission for the Contributor to share the published content and any other supporting materials on their own social media/marketing channels, websites, publications etc., so long as the material is not significantly transformed or altered to change the context/purpose.
The text, images or videos accompanying any such marketing material will be determined by Talent Point without the need for further permission to be sought from the Contributor.
We also expect the Contributor to understand that third parties may share the created content through social media or other channels, with or without Talent Point being directly involved or aware.
Some of the tools we use to collect your personal date have storage facilities based outside of the European Economic Area (EEA). Talent Point have endeavoured to select suppliers within the EEA or countries covered by adequacy decisions. When we send your personal information outside of the EEA to a country not recognised as providing appropriate protections, we put in place appropriate contracts or other safeguards to ensure your rights are protected.
Retention of your personal data
Talent Point retains your personal data for the life of the contribution your information was provided alongside. The life of your contribution is determined by it’s relevance and usefulness to Talent Point.
How We Keep Your Data Secure
We maintain appropriate procedures and technical safeguards within our systems to help protect against loss, misuse or unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or destruction of the information we hold about you. This includes providing training and guidance to all staff members to ensure they understand how to keep your data secure and thoroughly vetting any third party service provider (such as an email service) used to facilitate the administration of the event.

4. Your Rights
Data protection law gives you certain rights in relation to your personal data.
You can request access, rectification and erasure of your personal data that we hold or restrict its uses and you can object to processing, in certain circumstances. Rectification means correcting errors in your personal data.
You are entitled to raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) about how the Talent Point uses your personal data or how Talent Point deals with any complaints.
