Tyk are sponsoring Ingredients for a Successful Remote Company

Our first Live Stream, in partnership with Tyk, explored how to make remote a success - (hint - it's not technology!). This fireside chat covered a broad range of topics key to successful remote working from asynchronous communication and radical responsibility, to hiring and on-boarding.

James Hirst, Tyk's COO & Co-Founder, deep dived into many of these topics taking questions from the audience as we went. Drawing on his experience building and growing Tyk as a remote first business from 2 founders to 75 people across 6 continents and 25 countries, James was able to provide honest insight into what really matters when leading and working in a remote set-up and left us with several actionable takeaways I know we're implementing already.

We like to thank everyone who joined us for the session and kept the questions coming as well as James and Taylor from Tyk for helping us share valuable insights with our community.

Tyk is the cloud-native API management platform. From Capital One to eBay to the Financial Times; from Vietnam to Singapore to London to New York, thousands of businesses are harnessing the power of APIs via Tyk. They're committed to enabling inter-connectivity between systems and devices and is responsible for the leading Open Source API Management platform - available in the cloud, your data centre, or anywhere.

You can watch videos of the main talks and stages of the evening below, as well as being able to find out more about our speakers and event organisers.

COO & CO-Founder

In the late 90’s the ‘world wide web’ went mainstream, and I dropped out of Law school to make it more accessible.

I started by getting home-users connected via dial-up at one of the UK’s first consumer ISPs. Later, I launched a startup that built and hosted web-sites and ecommerce platforms for hundreds of businesses, including music festivals. Back-stage passes ftw!

As the impact of the web moved beyond web-sites, I joined a digital consultancy where I worked with clients including the UK Govt, the UN, retail banks and charities, and led teams who developed digital strategies, campaigns and transformation projects, developing new ways of engaging users with technology.

In 2016 I co-founded Tyk, the cloud-native API Management platform. Tyk enables software engineers and architects to build secure, resilient, global products and services. Better.
